APLI Continues to Drive National Economic Growth

The APLI Awards 2022 Top Leaders Award Night (Entrepreneur Recognition Night) was held by the Indonesian Direct Selling Association (APLI) on Saturday, January 14, in the evening at the Jakarta Convention Center Assembly Hall. Since it has been in operation for about 38 years, APLI is thought to be the only direct selling organization in Indonesia that is accredited by the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA). Its mission is to foster the growth of a strong and long-lasting direct selling sector in Indonesia.
Kany V. Soemantoro, chairman of APLI, claimed that having a direct selling business in Indonesia was one of the options that offered everyone in the country a chance to start their own business in addition to the chance to trade goods. "Deputy Chairperson of APLI for Industrial and External Affairs, Andam Dewi; Deputy Chairperson of APLI for Government Affairs, Petrus Irianto Herwono; and Deputy Chairperson of APLI for Internal Affairs, Tjia Afianto.
Along with the APLI Advisor H Bambang Soesatyo SE MBA, the Chairman of the RI MPR also attended the APLI Awards Top Leaders 2022 Night event (also known as Entrepreneur Recognition Night). Top Leaders from various direct sales companies that are APLI members are presented with the APLI Awards for Top Leaders 2022.
Two people each with achievements such as Top Sales Volume and Top Sponsoring from direct selling businesses that are members of APLI are listed as Top Leaders and are qualified to receive awards. Each direct selling business, among others, uses a methodology to evaluate the accomplishments of the Top Leaders based on how well they did at building their networks and closing deals to sell the most expensive products (Top Sales Volume and Top Sponsoring).
"The presentation of the 2022 APLI Awards for Top Leaders is expected to be a trigger for enthusiasm for other members of direct sellers (business partners) to achieve achievements in conducting business activities with a single level or multi-level direct selling system," said Kany. "It is hoped that this will contribute to the national economy with the increasing achievements of direct sellers (business partners) in this direct selling industry," said Kany.
Additionally, according to the Ministry of Trade's annual report on business activity in 2021, 231 direct selling companies in Indonesia managed to record sales transactions totaling IDR 16 trillion with 12 point 5 million business partners. Bambang Soesatyo, an advisor to APLI, further stated that the existence of APLI member companies in the direct selling industry had a very positive impact during the Covid-19 pandemic, which had a devastating effect on many sectors, particularly the economic one.
The reason is that many industries have failed and declined because they were unable to respond to the problems that were present. "The direct selling industry, on the other hand, continues to show growth, so this is not the case.
According to data from the World Direct Selling Association, the global direct selling market increased by 2 point 3 percent in 2020, totaling US$179 point 3 billion, which reflects this, said Bambang. ".
