Improve Learning Quality Build Kukar Pintar Ecosystem

kutai kartanegara regency

An absolute requirement in efforts to develop human resources (HR) is the transformation of the educational system. Isran Noor, the governor of East Kalimantan, stated that educators and teachers must act as change agents in order to unleash a wave of transformation, particularly given that East Kalimantan will eventually take on the role of being the home of the National Capital City (IKN).

In his remarks for the book "Incandescent Learning, The Struggle of Education People Supporting the Archipelago," he stated that "the mission is to build human resources that are honorable and competitive.". Twenty education activists from four East Kalimantan districts and cities contributed their inspiring stories to the book, which was produced in collaboration with the Tanoto Foundation.

Sukanto Tanoto and Tinah Bingei Tanoto established an independent philanthropic organization called PINTAR in 1981. Since then, it has collaborated with 25 district and city governments in Indonesia through the PINTAR program (Development of Innovation for Quality Learning). Through this program, 8,490 teachers and school principals were successfully reached in 2021 and served as role models for implementing active learning for more than 198,000 students.

Emy Rosana Saleh (Head of the Curriculum and Quality Development Section for Middle School Disdikbud Kutai Kartanegara), a participant in the PINTAR program in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan, was one of the education activists. According to Emy, the curriculum used in classes was largely conventional with the teacher serving as the center of learning when he first took on responsibility as head of the curriculum and quality development section for junior high schools in 2017.

According to a University of Muhammadiyah Malang S1 English Education graduate, "as a result, teaching staff needs to be trained on interactive learning methods to make learning more imaginative and enjoyable.". Additionally, the price of cayenne pepper in Palu City is falling freely due to the plentiful supply.

A selection for educators to become Regional Facilitators (Fasda) was held in 2019 by Disdikbud Kukar in collaboration with the Tanoto Foundation. Then Emy got involved.

A year later, the pandemic struck and face-to-face instruction was discontinued, proving that his choice had been the right one. Emy quickly adapted to find solutions so that distance learning (PJJ) could function effectively. Emy was armed with learning materials acquired while taking part in the PINTAR program.

This led to the creation of the "Kukar Pintar" portal initiative, which serves as a platform for the storage of instructional materials and video content for teachers and students. As a result, the teaching and learning process can be carried out by teachers and students more successfully.

Additionally, teachers don't have to worry about creating lesson plans because Kukar Pintar already has a variety of resources available. Instead, teachers just need to delve deeper and add a little innovation to their lessons. The graduate of Master of Arts from the University of Queensland and Doctor of HR Management from Jakarta State University explained that currently, Kukar Pintar is managed by sixty Fasda of the PINTAR program.

Margaretha Ari Widowati, the director of the Tanoto Foundation's Basic Education Program, also praised Kukar Pintar for its success. Emy Rosana Saleh had originally started the program with the PINTAR facilitators, and they had both been instrumental in its development. The regional budget now provides funding for Kukar Pintar, which has been approved as a regional program.

According to Ari, Emy and Fasda's work on the PINTAR program, which continues to be implemented and engage in fieldwork with students, teachers, and school administrators, has spawned cutting-edge teaching strategies. He concluded by saying that the use of technology as a practical and workable learning tool had been successfully demonstrated.

Along with Emy, the Pijar Learning book also includes the biographies of Sariyani (Head of Tenggarong 3 Middle School), Agus Suparmanto (Head of Tenggarong 4 Middle School), Ana Rupaida (Head of Tenggarong 003 Public Elementary School), and Nanang Nuryanto (Teacher SDN 021 Marangkayu), who are all inspirational figures for those who fight for education in Kutai Kartan. Innovative teaching techniques have been developed as a result of (RO/OL-7).
