For the purpose of reviving the national economy following the Covid-19 pandemic, MINISTER of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan is dedicated to collaborating and syncing up with business people in the direct selling industry. A lot of business actors should be able to enter the global market directly, according to the trade minister.

This message was delivered by the Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan, at the 2022 Indonesian Direct Selling Association (APLI) Award opening ceremony, which took place on Saturday, January 14, in Jakarta. In particular after the Covid-19 pandemic, he added, "The Ministry of Trade is ready to collaborate so that trade and direct sales can have a positive impact on business people and society, as well as contribute to the revival of the Indonesian economy.".

As stated in an official statement, collaboration is essential for success following the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan, who was quoted on Sunday (15/1). A total of 478 direct sales companies have been registered based on data that has been processed from the Integrated Service Information System Portal (SIPT) for 2022.

In 2021, 17,240,000 workers were successfully absorbed by Indonesia's direct sales business operations.

Up to 61 percent of those people are employees who are women. The 2022 APLI Award will honor Top Leaders who are able to market their goods directly to consumers across the nation, and the Minister of Trade has expressed his appreciation for the event's holding in order to promote direct selling and encourage Indonesians to use its products.

In addition, he said, "I congratulate and succeed to APLI for successfully holding the 2022 APLI Awards as a form of support from the association to the Government.". The Minister of Trade declared that the Ministry of Trade would be dedicated to assisting Indonesia Forward 2045, wherein the country's economy would be able to expand by 5 point 7 percent annually by continuing to implement structural reforms, benefit from demographic advantages and technological advancements, and boost economic competitiveness.

Furthermore, according to the Minister of Trade, Indonesia is anticipated to have the fifth-largest gross domestic product (GDP) in 2045 and high income status in 2036. In 2045, it's anticipated that Indonesia will have a middle class that makes up roughly 70% of the country's population if economic growth remains strong and inclusive.

He predicts that Indonesia's economic performance will also increase, showing that the country's economic recovery trend is continuing and becoming more pronounced. Of course, for the situation to improve, the pandemic must be better managed, and the community's access to economic opportunities must remain unimpeded.

Accordingly, it is hoped that it will directly influence the increasingly favorable business climate in a variety of sectors, including the field of direct sales," said the trade minister in his conclusion.
